About
Steve Hackett was the lead guitarist of Genesis from 1971 to 1977, credited with popularizing the two-handed tapping technique on guitar (later popularized by Eddie Van Halen). His fluid, melodic guitar style was integral to Genesis's progressive rock sound. After leaving Genesis, he released numerous acclaimed solo albums blending classical, jazz, and rock, and co-founded the supergroup GTR.
