About
Tom Scholz is the founder, guitarist, and primary songwriter of Boston, one of the best-selling rock bands of all time. A MIT-trained engineer, Scholz built his own recording studio in his basement and self-produced the demos that became Boston's debut album (1976), still the best-selling debut album in US history. He also invented the Rockman guitar amplifier, widely used in 1980s rock.
